Upper Atmosphere Dynamics

UAD ProgramThe Upper Atmosphere Dynamics program studies the electromagnetic interaction of the lithosphere, ionosphere, magnetosphere, and heliosphere using FMCW radar, magnetometers, GPS satellites, and SCINDA systems.

Current research works are on simulations of plasma bubbles and their ionograms, radiowave propagation in the ionosphere, scintillation of satellite signals, equatorial electrojets and counter-electrojets, and geomagnetic storms.

The program is a three-pronged approach to space weather analysis using theoretical modeling, observational instrument networks, and numerical simulations.
