A toolkit for Local Government Units, “Alternative Pathways to Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction” was launched in 2012. The toolkit consists of a 12-step process for local governments to mainstream climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction (CCA-DRR). It includes methods of assessing risk and how to access existing sources of funding for local initiatives. The Observatory provided input into the scientific approaches and frameworks to CCA-DRR, and the nexus between CCA and DRR.
This was a result of collaboration between Aksyon Klima, Ateneo School of Government, Building Disaster-Resilience Communities, Coastal Core, Inc., Marinduque Center for Environmental Concerns, the Province of Albay, Province of Iloilo, with the support of Christian Aid and the Adaptation Knowledge Platform for Asia.
