The CCA program aims to build national and regional capacity needed by developing countries to fulfill their commitments to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. A three-pronged strategy to achieve this program objective focuses on public awareness, technical assistance, and institutional development.
KLIMA Climate Change Center serves as the hub of this program and acts as the interface between the Observatory and the general public, between the highly technical aspects of the climate change issue and the sustainable development concerns of human society.
Activities under this program include:
- Greenhouse gas emissions inventory (multi-scale: project-based to national level)
- Training courses on climate change (e.g. CDM, V&A assessment, CC101)
- Public briefings on climate change concerns (e.g. climate impacts on agriculture, public health, water resources)
- Information-education-communication materials on climate change
- Local clearinghouse for clean energy and transport
