Measurements of wind, rain, humidity, pressure, and temperature are essential for scientific study of our climate and atmosphere, as well as for many practical applications like agriculture. The sparse network of Met stations in the country calls for cheap, locally built Met sensors and data loggers.
This project aims to build a meteorological station using locally available parts and expertise. The data logger is built from a Zilog microprocessor. The signal conditioning circuits for the sensors are assembled in-house. Once completed, the station is battery operated and can be deployed in the field. The data can be downloaded via a laptop.
