CAMP2Ex Chief Forecaster Gives talk at Manila Observatory

Chief Forecaster of the Clouds Aerosols and Monsoon Processes Philippines Experiment (CAMP2Ex) and former technical advisor of the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), Mr. Ed Fukada visited the Manila Observatory last 11-13 September 2018.

On 11-12 September, a workshop on fundamentals of tropical cyclones and synoptic meteorology including JTWC operational forecasting and its applications CAMP2Ex was conducted with the MO community, and graduate students from the Ateneo.

Mr. Fukada also held a public lecture on the challenges in tropical cyclone forecasting on 13 September. Students from the Ateneo, and members of the community attended the event. Mr. Fukada was able to use Super Typhoon Mangkhut (Ompong) as an example for his talk as it made its way to the Philippines.
